In the process of developing regulations which will be governed by metrological and other requirements for measuring instruments and prepackages, Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals conduct the public debate.

At the public debate, which is conducted in period from January 18, to February 20, 2012, are:

• Draft regulation on measuring instruments;
• Draft regulation on metrological requirements for non-automatic weighing instruments;
• Draft regulation on metrological requirements and examination method for prepackages.

In the “Official Gazette of RS”, No. 1/12 of January 11, 2012, is published Regulation on verification of measuring instruments, which will come into force on January 19, 2012.

This Regulation shall closely prescribe periodic verification of measuring instruments for certain kinds of measuring instruments, manner and conditions of verification of measuring instruments, as well as the manner and deadlines for keeping the necessary documentation.

In late 2011, one of the important activities of DMDM was realized – the new premises of DMDM regional unit was completed - Department of control and supervision Novi Sad at the old address in the street Dr Milana Petrovica 19. In the new building, after opening ceremony of the building, the extended Collegium was held. At pleasant ambient and festive atmosphere, besides Collegium a review of the management of quality system management and workshop on the mission, vision and strategic goals of DMDM in period 2012-2014 were held.
